Your own softwareinstead of costly subscriptions.

If standard software does not fit your processes or costs high licence fees every month, we develop the solution ourselves. Applications for your company: CRM, customer portal, quoting tool, warehouse management, dashboards and whatever has no fitting product. Tailored to your processes, connected to your systems and combined with AI on request.

In short

Who this is for
and what changes.

Custom software pays off as soon as you pay for a standard tool every month and still do three things by hand beside it. Typically businesses with a pricing logic, a warehouse or a check for which no subscription really fits.

We do not start with a hundred page specification, but with the part that costs you most today. That runs as a first version, and you decide from the result what comes next.

This is probably not for you if a standard tool already does ninety per cent of the job. The subscription is cheaper then.

Today

Another subscription for every task, and each one only half fits.

Afterwards

One tool that matches your process exactly, paid for once.

Today

The numbers that matter sit in three programs and a spreadsheet.

Afterwards

One screen where everything comes together, in your own terms.

Today

The vendor raises the price or drops a feature you rely on.

Afterwards

What the software does is your decision, not a foreign roadmap.

What we build

Software for tasks
standard tools cannot handle.

Whether for sales, administration, customer service or logistics: we build the tools your team really needs.

CRM and customer management

Contacts, enquiries, quotes and history in one place, tailored to your sales team.

Customer portals and web apps

Customers view orders, documents and status themselves and submit requests online. Runs in the browser, on the phone like an app.

Quoting and order tools

Quotes in minutes instead of hours, with your prices, templates and approvals.

Warehouse management (WMS)

Goods receipt, storage locations, picking and shipping, designed around your warehouse.

Dashboards and analytics

All key figures from your systems in one place, without exports or spreadsheets.

Interfaces and internal tools

Connections where no ready-made integration exists, and simple interfaces for your team.

Evidence, not claims

That is why custom software is now an option for a business with ten employees at all. A few years ago it was a question of size.

is how fast worldwide software spending grows in 2026 alone

Subscription prices rise faster than wages and revenue. What looks bearable today is a fixed cost block in five years, renegotiated every year.

Gartner, worldwide IT spending forecast of 27 July 2026
7,200

francs a year is what a subscription for 15 people at CHF 40 a month costs

Over five years that is 36,000 francs, and none of it belongs to you afterwards.

Worked example: 15 users × CHF 40 × 12 months
63.62

francs is what an hour of work costs in Switzerland on average

A tool that costs you an hour of detours every day therefore costs around 14,000 francs a year. On top of the licence you pay for it.

The assessment: custom software is not always the answer. If an existing tool largely does the job, keeping it and connecting only the missing pieces is cheaper. We tell you before the quote which of the two routes costs you less. The direct comparison →

Example: Excel

A spreadsheet
becomes an application.

Many analyses live in one Excel file that a single person maintains and everyone else receives by email. We move the data into an application with a clear interface, calculate trends and charts on their own, and give everyone on the team the access they need.

Before One file, one person, errors surface late

After One application, the whole team, figures hold
AnalysisThis yearOverviewDataReportsTeamCHF 128kRevenue+12.4 %vs. last year1,342OrdersRevenue per month

Excel is a good start and a poor foundation. As soon as several people need the same file, copies appear, formulas break, and nobody knows which version counts.

The application takes over your existing data, checks entries, keeps a history and permissions, and evaluates without anyone touching a formula. It evaluates continuously, not at month end.

That is one field of use among many. We equally build applications that connect several systems, map approvals or run entire processes.

Typical scope
  • Existing files are taken over, nothing is re-entered
  • Input forms with validation instead of free cells
  • Charts and key figures that update themselves
  • Permissions per person, a history per change
  • Export to Excel stays available
Example: warehouse management

A WMS that
fits your warehouse.

Many retailers pay external warehouse software fees per user or location, every month. Often the software only half fits their own processes, and interfaces cost extra.

We develop warehouse management that maps goods receipt, storage locations, picking and shipping exactly the way you work. Directly connected to your shop and accounting, at a fraction of the ongoing licence costs.

The same approach applies to a CRM, a customer portal, a quoting tool or a dashboard.

Typical features
  • Goods receipt and storage locations
  • Pick lists and packing process
  • Stock reconciliation with shop and marketplaces
  • Connection to shipping and accounting
  • Minimum stock levels and reorder suggestions
  • Reports on turnover and stock coverage
The comparison

Why custom
software can pay off.

Standard software is built for the average. If you have your own processes, you often pay for features you do not need and miss the ones you do.

How your software is built

Step by step
to your own solution.

1

Requirements

We look at your processes together with you and record what the software needs to do.

2

Concept and prototype

You see early on how the solution looks and works, and you can have your say.

3

Development

We build and test with real data and connect your systems.

Operation

The software runs, we monitor it and develop it further with you.

From the first calls

The three questions everyone asks.

Where this comes from, what it costs and who owns the data.

How do we know this works?

We run our own systems that are in daily use: Product data and content for product data, Prices and promotions for prices and promotions, Product compliance checks for product checks and core.iq Studio for content. On top of that warehouse systems, portals and reporting for clients. That is the same work you would get.

What does it cost?

We start with a first usable version, not with a large project. We cut the scope so that a manageable part runs first, and build on from there. Every step has a fixed price you know in advance. Support optional and cancellable monthly.

Who owns the data?

The solution runs on your infrastructure and the data stays there. What happens to source code, rights and documentation we put in writing before we start, instead of leaving it open. That way you know from the outset what belongs to you.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions.

The most important answers at a glance.

When is custom software worth it instead of a SaaS solution?
When per-user or per-location licences cause high running costs, the software only half fits your processes or interfaces are missing. In that case, custom development often pays off after a short time.
What software does core.iq develop?
For example CRM systems, customer portals, quoting and order tools, warehouse management systems (WMS), dashboards and interfaces, with AI features on request.
How does development work?
We document the requirements, show a prototype early on, develop with real data and then support you in operation.
Can the software grow with us?
Yes. New features, locations or interfaces can be added without rebuilding the existing solution.
What does a custom development cost at core.iq?
We cut the scope so that a first usable version runs early, instead of quoting a large project. Every further step again has a fixed price you know in advance. Ongoing support is optional and cancellable monthly.
Who owns the software in the end?
The solution runs on your infrastructure and your data stays there. What happens to source code, usage rights and documentation we put in writing before we start. That is deliberately not a clause in the small print but part of the quote.
What happens to our data?
The data sits in your own environment, not in a shared tenant next to other customers. Where we need access to run the system, we work as a processor under a contract based on Swiss data protection law, and every access is logged.
What happens if something does not work?
Faults that go back to our implementation we fix. For running operations there is a support agreement with agreed response times, plus logs and monitoring so that a problem shows up before it shows up for you.
Will we depend on core.iq afterwards?
The software is built so that somebody else can take it over: common technology instead of home grown constructions, a documented structure, credentials with you. Support is cancellable monthly. Dependency comes from missing documentation, and that is exactly what we deliver with it.
How long until we see something?
You usually see a first prototype within a few days and a first version fit for production within some weeks, depending on scope. We show early and often, so corrections stay cheap.
